The Institute of Indian Foundrymen (The IIF), set up in 1950 is the all India Association of the metal-casting industry and acts as a nodal point of reference for customers and suppliers of foundry industry.
Headquartered at Kolkata, IIF operates through 4 Regional Offices at Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai & Chennai; 4 Centres of Excellence at Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata & Pune and 24 Chapters and one activity centre spread all over India.
The Institute is a member of the World Foundry Organization (WFO), Asia Foundry Forum (AFF), BRICS Foundry Forum, Foundry Development Council (FDC) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
ROLE OF IIF

    Increase the visibility and create awareness about Foundry Industry
- 
    Promote the importance of Foundry Industry for manufacturing & “Make in India”

    Highlight activities of IIF for sustainable growth of foundry sector
- 
    Policy Advocacy through interacting with Government Ministries, Departments and agencies
- 
    Brand building & Media Advocacy through quality coverage in print & electronic media
- 
    Publishing the monthly Indian Foundry Journal
- 
    Organising annually the Indian Foundry Congress (along with Indian Foundry Exhibition IFEX) and publishing the transactions thereof
- 
    Participating in the preparation of standards for Foundry materials, Products and Test methods by the Bureau of Indian Standards
- 
    Promoting export of foundry products and related services
- 
    Providing technical services to member companies
- 
    Coordinating Research and Development work on foundry related subjects
- 
    Organising Training for Development of Shop-floor personnel
- 
    Collecting, collating, maintaining and updating databank of foundries and their suppliers and publishing the Indian Foundry Directory every 5 years listing information relevant to the foundry sector
- 
    Conducting modular examinations on foundry technology
- 
    Supporting foundry related courses in educational institutions
- 
    Recognising meritorious activity by individuals and body corporates in the field of foundry technology, through the Awards Programme
- 
    Conducting technical meetings, seminars and workshops through Regional Branches and Chapters for development of foundrymen
-
